The British School at Athens supports advanced research on all aspects of Greek lands and culture. Best known for its archaeological discoveries at sites such as Knossos and Mycenae, it promotes research in humanities disciplines from linguistics to anthropology and history, and offers a free programme of lectures and seminars. The School's Marc and Ismene Fitch Research Laboratory is a Mediterranean hub for archaeological science, and its archive and reference library are world renowned. School membership is open to all undertaking research at universities or related institutes, or to bona fide scholars, but we particulary welcome all with an interest in our work to join our Friends. The School is a registered charity in the UK and in Greece.
