London born, Kosta Kanaroglou grew up in the UK from the age of 11. He has a BSc in Biology and a MBA. He is very keen on Family Business Management and has attended seminars at Harvard and other institutions on that subject. With the help of other business families, he founded Family Business Network (FBN) Greece.

His professional career evolved in the areas of Pharmaceuticals and Healthcare in general since 1997. He has held several roles in AstraZeneca Spain, both locally as well as on international projects, before moving to Greece in 2007. Since, he has worked in Cana Laboratories, a Greek pharmaceutical company established in 1928 by his grandfather, assuming the role of CEO in 2012 and President of the Board in 2018. Since 2017 he has been actively pursuing opportunities in the Medical Cannabis market as he believes it is the next big thing in medicine.

Kosta is fluent in Greek, English, Spanish and French, loves spending time with his wife and two daughters and is passionate about being a racing driver.

Dr. Katerina Sardi joined Energean in 2021 as Managing Director and Country Manager in Greece.

Katerina claims 25 years of experience as an energy expert.  She started her career in energy consulting in London working on coal gasification to synthesis gas for Hitachi.  She joined the Greek Regulatory Authority for Energy (RAE) in 2002 and in 2011 she became the Head of RAE’s Energy Planning and International Affairs Department.  Since 2015, she has worked as an energy expert, advising companies and consortiums on implementation of the overall EU legal and regulatory energy framework and claims not only specialized but also cross-sectional understanding of all aspects of EU energy and climate policy. 

Her scientific work has been published in archive journals and presented in peer reviewed conferences. She has contributed into several prominent technical assistance projects in the EU, Egypt, Turkey, and other countries.  She has also been teaching postgraduate courses at Greek academic institutions for over a decade on topics related to climate change, emissions trading and numerical modelling of flows and turbulent combustion.

Katerina holds a Ph. D. in Fluid Mechanics and Natural Gas Combustion for Power Production, Mechanical Engineering Department, Imperial College, London and a Dipl. Eng. Mechanical Engineering Department, Artistotle University of Thessaloniki.

Maria Nefeli Bernitsa is a financial services lawyer admitted to the Law Society of England & Wales and the Athens Bar. She has an expertise in advising on high impact legislative and regulatory changes and large-scale financial services and capital markets transactions. Maria Nefeli has extensive experience in the financial services law aspects of global multi-strategy asset manager group restructures, new authorisations for financial services firms and regulatory issues in private placements and IPOs.

Maria Nefeli joined Bernitsas from a tier 1 financial services and markets team in the City of London and was seconded to a global investment firm to implement European ESG legislation. Since joining Bernitsas, she has focused on capital markets transactions as well as mergers and acquisitions of listed entities. She also advises on the application of ESG laws and regulations across industry sectors.
